The family of a Winnipeg cyclist that was trapped under an SUV after an accident Wednesday morning is in search of those they credit for saving her life.

Eight to ten people quickly responded to the scene, and together they lifted the SUV off Janice Naccarato. They used a newspaper box to prop the vehicle up and keep it off of her until emergency crews arrived.

Her family posted a public statement on Facebook this week, and say the quick actions of those people are the reason their mother and wife are still alive.

"She's currently in the hospital, alive, in critical but STABLE care," her son, Jayce Naccarato, wrote in the post.

Jayce also wrote that his family would like to find those people so they can personally deliver their thanks.

The post also said that "there have been no significant spinal nor organ injuries."

The family is hoping that sharing the Facebook post will put them in touch with the people who responded.
