Wednesday, April 19 to Thursday, April 20

  • Red River Valley Festival of the Arts presents the vocal/choral sessions at Buhler Hall, Gretna. The finals will take place April 20th at 7:00 pm.
  • Morris swimming lesson registration is at Morris Multiplex from 4:00 to 7:00 pm daily.

Wednesday, April 19 to Friday, April 21

  • Roseau Valley School presents “Seussical Junior." Doors open nightly at 6:30 with the show getting underway at 7:00. Tickets are $10 which includes coffee and dessert. Advance tickets are available at the school office. Call 204-427-2143 to reserve your spot.

Thursday, April 20

  • Winkler Senior Centre is putting on a waffle breakfast from 9:00 am until noon. Cost is $7.50 for Belgian waffles with fruit, waffle sauce, whipped cream and coffee or tea.
  • A Rocha invites you to a nature talk at 7:30 pm at Winkler Grace Mennonite Church, where they’ll explore the topic of God’s Relationship with Creation.

Friday, April 21

  • A soup and pie lunch will be held from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm at Morden St. Paul’s United Church. Enjoy delicious homemade soups, bread, pies and dessert for $7. All proceeds go to local projects.
  • Bruce Reimer and the White Stone Band will perform a country gospel concert at 7:00 pm at Winkler EMMC. Tickets are $20 at the door. Ages 15 and under, and 80+ have free admission.

Saturday, April 22

  • A supper in support of Mennonite Disaster Service is being held at Rhineland Pioneer Centre in Altona. Hear about the 2016 MDS projects and plans for 2017, especially in Fort McMurray. Reserve your complimentary tickets by calling MDS at 1-866-261-1274.
  • The La Riviere Raptor Festival is happening at Blair Morrison Hall from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. This day of family fun includes guided birding and nature walks, presentations, door prizes, art raffle, photo contest, and live birds of prey. A canteen will be available.
  • The senior choir of St. Paul’s United Church in Morden, invites you to “A Few of Our Favourite Things” at 7:30 pm. This will be an evening of music and refreshments. Tickets are available at the church office or from choir members.
  • The annual Morris spring craft and bake sale is being held at Morris Multi-Plex, from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. With more than 70 booths, you’ll find unique and tasty items.
  • Join D’Friesens for an evening of Low German singing at 7:30 pm at the Redekop Family Centre, located 1 mile West of Plum Coulee on Highway 14. There will also be a children’s story, fellowship, coffee and cookies as well as sharing what God has done on their recent trip with D’Friesen Ministry.
  • The Roland United Church annual fish fry is taking place from 5:00 to 6:30 pm at Roland Memorial Hall. Cost is $16.50 for adults, ages 12 and under are $7.50 and pre-schoolers are free.
  • A broomball tournament in support of the Morris Splash Park Project is being held at Morris Arena. This is open to ages 18+, the cost is $100 per team. Register at Morris Rec office.
  • A fish fry in support of The Bunker youth ministry is from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at Winkler Mennonite Church. The menu includes all you can eat pickerel, baked potato, coleslaw, buns, drinks and dessert. The Bunker is a youth ministry serving Winkler and area. Admission is by donation with receipts being issued for donations over $20.

Sunday, April 23

  • A spring dessert evening with Union Gospel Mission is being held at 7:00 pm at Maranatha Christian Church, 175 First Street, Winkler.
