Camps across Manitoba are already getting filled for summer 2018.

Representatives from camps in Manitoba shared great things to look forward to this year and some of the early bird deals that are available.

Bill McCaskell and his wife Bev McCaskell are the national director team for One Hope Canada. Bill filled us in with details on the One Hope camps in Manitoba.

"We are doing great. We are looking forward to another summer of ministry. Not only warmer weather, but thousands of kids coming to our camps. Its something to look forward to. Its been a full year, and we're looking forward to summer. A lot of our camps are always introducing new skills, new activities, and that can cause registrations to fill up."

McCaskell told us, "Roseau River Bible Camp has been filling up very well. We're at about the same stage as we were last year. Valley View Bible Camp has a snow camp that is almost full. They also just opened up a zipline last summer. It's one of the largest we have in the country across One Hope Camps. It's certainly worth the trip."

Bill McCaskell talked about the benefits of getting your child in early."Besides getting in, which is always a bonus, Roseau River has $10 off. Plus some of our camps throw in a tee shirt for free. To register, go to onehopecanada.ca . All the Manitoban camps are listed there and will provide information on the camp closest to you."

Larissa Terry, the summer registrar with Camp Arnes, gave us their exciting news for this upcoming summer.

"We are on par with last year's numbers in terms of registration. This summer, our new addition is the Creator's Studio. It's like our arts and crafts, but with new stations with different activities like a lego station, a music station; Whatever you can dream up that is artistic is going to be there. This will bring the artistic side out of the kids as well as the adventurous side."

She believes, "summer camp is a super important experience for every kid. It helps build relationships with other campers and build acceptance with other children, and they build their faith with Wigwam (chapel). It also helps them get over new challenges like trying the zip line or the high rope."

There are benefits to signing your child up early for Camp Arnes as well. "If they register before February 15th you get $30 off for every child."
