Driver issued appearance notice in fatal April collision

A driver has received an appearance notice after killing a pedestrian in a collision.

The Winnipeg Police Service (WPS) Traffic Division members issued the notice to a 43-year-old female for Driving Carelessly Causing Death under the Highway Traffic Act.

The notice comes following an incident in April 2019 where a 57-year-old female was struck by a motor vehicle in the parking lot of the Garden City Shopping Centre.

Police are at the scene of a serious pedestrian/vehicle collision in the parking lot of Garden City Shopping Centre. We apologize for disruptions in the area. There are no public road closures at this time.

The woman sustained life-threatening injuries and was pronounced deceased after being transported to hospital.
