A Dauphin man is recovering after walking into the hospital suffering from a gunshot wound. 

RCMP say the 43-year-old man sought care just after 11 p.m. on Tuesday.

Officers quickly learned that the victim was walking near 1st Street SW and 4th Avenue SW in Dauphin at around 10 p.m. on Tuesday when he ran into three males on BMX bikes. The trio began chatting with the victim before shooting him and taking off. 

The victim then walked to the Dauphin Regional Health Centre, where he was treated for the non-life-threatening injury.
