The two regions with the most new COVID-19 cases are Northern health and Winnipeg.

Health officials say there are 139 new cases of COVID-19, with half of those from the Northern health region. There are 75 new COVID cases Wednesday in the north, and 52 more in Winnipeg. Southern Health–Santé Sud has four new cases, Prairie Mountain three, and Interlake-Eastern has five new COVID cases.

Two deaths were announced; a man and a woman from Winnipeg, both in their 70s and not linked to any outbreaks.

Manitoba's five-day COVID-19 test positivity rate is six per cent, and Winnipeg's 4.4 per cent.

There are 1,153 active cases and 29,114 recoveries. A total of 878 Manitobans have died from the virus so far.

In the hospital there are:

  • 84 people with active COVID-19 as well as 140 people in hospital with COVID-19 who are no longer infectious but continue to require care, for a total of 224 hospitalizations
  • 12 people in intensive care units with active COVID-19 as well as 15 people with COVID-19 who are no longer infectious but continue to require critical care for a total of 27 ICU patients

Across Manitoba Wednesday, 1,827 tests were completed, bring the total number of tests in the past year to 506,511.
