The province will be working with more than 500 congregate elderly persons housing facilities to deliver third COVID-19 vaccine doses.

Starting Wednesday, all residents of these homes can get a third COVID-19 vaccine.

To date, there have been 2,072,870 first, second, and third doses given out in Manitoba.

Vaccination popups will be hosted on Saturday and Sunday, between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m., at popular Winnipeg malls. They will be at  CF Polo Park's centre court area and St. Vital Centre, near Hudson’s Bay. 

 

New cases

There are 130 new COVID-19 cases being confirmed by the province Wednesday, bringing the total number of cases to 63,099. 

Out of the new cases, 78 people are not vaccinated, 45 people who are fully vaccinated, and seven people who are partially vaccinated.

New cases by health region include:

  • 60 in Northern
  • 33 in Southern
  • 25 in Winnipeg
  • nine in Prairie Mountain
  • three in Interlake-Eastern

 

The five-day test positivity rate is 4.2 per cent. 

There are 1,121 active cases and 60,738 recoveries.

 

Hospitalzations

In the hospital, there are 83 people, with 59 of those having active cases. Out of the active cases, there are 43 people not vaccinated, 11 who are fully vaccinated, and five who are partially vaccinated. 

There are 22 people in intensive care, with 18 people having active cases. Fifteen people with active cases are not vaccinated and three are fully vaccinated.

The number of deaths has risen to 1,240 after three more deaths.
