The 51st annual Morden Corn and Apple Festival takes place this weekend. Here is what you need to know!

One of the best festivals in southern Manitoba, the Morden Corn and Apple kicks off today and runs throughout the weekend of August 25 to 27. 

The weekend starts on Friday will a full day of events and activities for the entire family. There is a Kid's Play Area, Frog's Hollow Petting Zoo, Mr. Bubbles and Paula's Face Painting, all of which run all three festival days. The Wonder Shows will also stick around throughout the weekend.

At 3:45 p.m., catch a pie eating contest or be part of the Official Opening, kicking off at 6:00 p.m.

Saturday starts with a pancake breakfast at 7:00 a.m. and the annual parade at 10:00 a.m. The main stage will be busy all day long with local acts, while CHVN artists Bold as Lions will be having a 9:00 p.m. concert on the Youth Stage.

Sunday will host a Kids Church service at the Youth Stage at 11:00 a.m. and the main stage will be busy once again, with artists like Jayme Giesbrecht, Potters Clay and the Blue Color Harmony Boys finishing off the festival. There is also a Mud Racing event which brings racers from all over the prairies and the U.S.

And as always, get your free, hot, buttered Corn-on-the-Cob steam heated by an antique steam engine and free, ice cold apple juice throughout the day. If you do anything during the weekend, make sure you grab your corn and apple juice!
