Colton Dixon and his wife recently welcomed twin girls into the world, but the beginning was rough, driving the couple to pray.

They welcomed Ava Dior and Athens Elizabeth via an emergency cesarean section after Dixon's wife Annie had already been in labour for 30 hours.

Annie told People magazine in an exclusive interview that the pregnancy was almost perfect. However, right after birth, one of the girls didn't have a pulse.

Dixon posted pictures of his little ones on Instagram, saying, "We originally wanted to keep this story in the dark, but realized that this is a story of hope that needs to be heard. Just because a situation looks dark or grim doesn’t mean that you agree with it or give it control over the outcome."

As little Ava came out without a pulse, Dixon called out to God for help. He told People, "In that moment, we had a choice: faith or fear. We watched and prayed as the doctors and nurses resuscitated our daughter back to life."

We originally wanted to keep this story in the dark, but realized that this is a story of hope that needs to be heard. Just because a situation looks dark or grim doesn’t mean that you agree with it or give it control over the outcome. . God says “I have given you the keys to the kingdom. Whatever you bind on earth will bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.” . Sometimes we have to fight. Our word are a weapon. Our praise is a weapon. God declared us victorious as His sons and daughters, but according to His word, we have to agree with Him... . Also, are they not the CUTEST EVER 😍😍😍. #linkinbio

The doctors were successful and after only a few days in the NICU, the couple was able to bring Ava home, reuniting the twins.

Dixon says, "Sometimes we have to fight. Our words are a weapon. Our praise is a weapon. God says “I have given you the keys to the kingdom. Whatever you bind on earth will bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven."

Dixon's latest song Miracles has been lighting up the charts this year, and now the tune has a new meaning for him personally. He says, "They truly are our two little miracles."
