Canadian Mennonite University (CMU) is excited to announce that its tuition increase will be very modest for the upcoming school year.

Starting in September, CMU's undergraduate and graduate programs will receive a tuition increase of just one percent. This will be the lowest increase among Manitoba's post-secondary institutions.

"CMU receives less government funding than other Manitoba universities and thus is less impacted by recent reductions in operating grants," said CMU President Dr. Cheryl Pauls in a statement. "CMU continues to offer a high level of academic excellence and programming while being mindful of costs for students."

Tuition and the residence fees contribute 45 percent of the operating budget for the university. The rest comes from friends, alumni, donors, and churches who have donated to CMU, along with a small contribution from the Province.

CMU recently opened their brand new Centre for Environmental and Economic Resilience, located on the fourth floor of their north campus.
