One month after an autumn snowstorm wreaked havoc throughout Manitoba, city parks in Winnipeg are reopening or partially opening.

Several parks throughout the city were closed to the public after the storm, given concerns for public safety with a number of downed trees, and more that could still come down.

The City of Winnipeg says progress is slowly being made in the cleanup. As of Saturday, November 9, King's Park has officially reopened.

The City says Kildonan Park is also now open to vehicle traffic to access the restaurant in the park. However, the park itself remains closed.

"St. Vital Park, Munson Park, and Crescent Drive parks remain closed; we hope to have these areas open soon," the City says in an online post.

While parks are slowly reopening the City says people sill need to be cautious.

"Please remember to be aware of your surroundings at all other parks, especially those with large trees and low branches."
