The Children's Hospital Foundation in Manitoba is asking people not to drop off books at fire halls as they are not holding a fall event.

Each year, the Children’s Hospital Book Market raises between $300,000 and $500,000 but the pandemic has put this on pause. Typically this has been done in the fall and spring, but it has not happened since 2019.

"The health and safety of volunteers and the public is the Children’s Hospital Foundation of Manitoba’s top priority," the foundation says in a statement.

While this is not a current issue, fire halls have not taken donations since the market was first put on pause. Those wishing to show their support can instead go online.
