The official broadcast day is over but donations are still being accepted for Extra Life.

Extra Life is a North America-wide charity that supports children's mircle network hospitals.

Bold Commerce in Winnipeg hosted an event yesterday, ending at 7:30 this morning. So far they've raised more than $16,800, but you can still donate. Their goal is $20,000.

Co-organizer of the Bold event Sara Shimoji says, with it being a gaming event, things can get competitive, but it's all for the kids.

"Even our fundraising was competitive," she says.

Bold got involved with Extra Life last year. Seeing the event grow has been incredible, says Shimoji.

Extra Life raised a total of more than $7.3-million through yesterday's 24 hour event -- $700,000 more than at the end of last year's Game Day.

Gary Rozak, Children's Miracle Network program director with the Children's Hospital Foundation of Manitoba, says money raised in Manitoba stays here.

"We specifically buy equipment at the hospital... I think everybody knows what the economic climate is like in Manitoba. It's a little tougher now because health care is, you know, pretty tight. There's lots of cuts all over the place. That just means it comes back to the Foundation... to help raise more money, because the needs in the hospital, they don't stop," says Rozak.
