City crews are putting up new street signs today along Chancellor Matheson Way.

Mayor Brian Bowman announced the honourary renaming of Chancellor Matheson Way to "Grey Cup Champions Way" on Tuesday, November 26, as part of the Grey Cup Parade and celebrations.

Bowman says the street signs, "Will show every visiting team who comes to this field who they are going up against."

On November 29, at the corner of Chancellor Matheson Way and Ken Ploen Way, the new street sign was installed.

The honourary street name will last a minimum of five years, but Wade Miller, President and CEO of the Winnipeg Football Club says, "We're going to work hard to keep that sign up longer than five years."

Whenever the street signs do come down they will be donated to the Bombers organization.

Local members of the Bombers squad Andrew Harris, Nic Demski, Brady Oliveira, and Geoff Gray were also in attendance for the unveiling.
