An awards show for top country artists, the ACM Awards on April 18 featured a stunning performance of gospel hits with Carrie Underwood and Cece Winans.

This was the 56th Academy of Country Music Awards event.

"Thank you to the legendary CeCe Winans and the amazing choir and musicians for joining me on the #MySavior performance last night!" posts Underwood on her Facebook.

Underwood, a seven-time Grammy award winner, started off the performance with the first verse of 'Amazing Grace' in acapella, which is one of the songs on her recent gospel album, My Savior

She moved into her next song, 'Great is Thy Faithfulness' and introduced Cece Winans on stage where the two brought powerful harmonies to the country music fans during the awards show. The two then moved into 'Ol' Rugged Cross' with a choir singing backups.

Winans shared her love for the evening's performance, on Facebook she says, "Thanks again @acmawards and @carrieunderwood for an amazing night."

Underwood ended the performance with the last bit of 'How Great Thou Art,' a gospel song she first sang on the ACM Awards show stage 10 years ago with Vince Gill on guitar.

This year the country/gospel artist was only nominated for one award in the video of the year category.

The performance was taped at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville while the awards show was live-streamed in the same city, different location. The event was hosted by Keith Urban and Mickey Guyton.
