All civic offices are closed on Canada Day, Tuesday, July 1, 2014.  Here's a look at the rest of the City Services in use on Canada Day.


Recycling/Garbage Collection

Recycling, garbage and yard waste will be collected as normally scheduled for those with Tuesday as a collection day.

Winnipeg Transit

Winnipeg Transit will be operating on a Sunday schedule for Tuesday, July 1.

Special Canada Day service includes:

    A FREE Canada Day Shuttle service will operate from 12:00 noon until 12:00 midnight linking Downtown, The Forks and Osborne Village.
    Extra Route 11 Portage buses will be operating between The Forks and Assiniboine Park from 12:00 noon until 11:00 p.m. Regular transit fares apply.

Post-Fireworks departures:

    The Forks: buses will be available on Main Street between York and Graham.
    Assiniboine Park to Downtown: buses will be available at eastbound Portage Avenue at Overdale Street.
    Assiniboine Park to St. James/Assiniboia areas: buses will be available at westbound Portage Avenue at Overdale Street.

Leisure Centres

All Leisure Centres are closed Tuesday, July 1. Regular hours of operation for Leisure Centres resume on Wednesday, July 2.

Outdoor Pools

Wading Pools

Weather permitting, the following 16 wading pools will be open on Tuesday, July 1:

Dakota Park     Bronx Park
J.H. Bruns Park     Central Park
Keenleyside Park     McKittrick Park
Norquay Community Centre     Westdale
Brock Cordova Park     Vimy Ridge Park
John Steele Park     Pascoe Park
Machray Park     Transcona Centennial

Operating hours vary by wading pool; however, most are open 10:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. The regular season schedule is in effect Wednesday, July 2. For schedule information, please view the wading pool schedule available online, or contact 311, open 24 hours every day.

Spray Pads

Spray pads will be open on Tuesday, July 1 and include the following locations:
Fort Rouge Park     Lindenwoods Community Centre
Provencher Park     River Heights Community Centre
St. Norbert Community Centre     Shaughnessy Park
Central Park     Vimy Ridge Park
River East     Transcona Centennial
Westdale     St. James Assiniboia Centennial Pool

Operating hours for spray pads are 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. For additional information, please view the spray pad schedule available online, or contact 311, open 24 hours every day.

Indoor Pools

All City of Winnipeg swimming pools will be closed on Tuesday, July 1.

Regular hours of operation are in effect for all pools on Monday, June 30 and Wednesday, July 2.

Libraries

All Winnipeg Public Libraries will be closed on Tuesday, July 1. Online services including eMagazines, eBooks, streaming music, movies and My Account services for requests/renewals are available anytime at winnipeg.ca/library.

Winnipeg Parking Authority

The Winnipeg Parking Authority will be closed Canada Day and back to regular working hours on July 2
