Canadian Christian worship leader and songwriter Brooke Nicholls is releasing this October a brand-new song, “Still”, a collaboration with Movement Worship.

Brooke was named Female Vocalist of the Year by the Canadian Gospel Music Association three times and has also been nominated for a Juno Award.

“Still” will be on her new album, ‘Glory to God’.  The track showcases some of the best songwriting she’s ever done, and is part of her most ambitious project to date: a double album featuring six songs recorded in both live and studio versions.

In a recent interview, she explained that she was actually pursuing a life in pop music, but as she got closer to Jesus, she could hear His voice leading her into Christian music.

“The short of it is, is the closer I got to Jesus, the clearer I could hear His voice and He was definitely leading me into Christian music as a worship leader.”

About 7 weeks after giving birth to her daughter, Shiloh, she started the writing process with Movement Worship over Zoom. Even though she was tired and overwhelmed as a new mom, she wanted to continue doing what the Lord asked her to do.  She found herself bringing all of these feelings and emotions to the Lord.

“I just felt really encouraged, but also convicted because I thought in whatever season of life I'm in, or whatever I'm facing, I want to have that same posture, that same attitude of Thanksgiving to Jesus, and so that's the heart of it.”

“I feel like a different person than what I was two years ago, and so the songs that I'm writing, the songs for this record, they're going to showcase that I think, and [I’m] excited for people to hear these songs.”

Brooke’s new song “Still” is out today, October 8.
