The CFL season might be two months away, but already Blue Bombers players are singing the praises of Winnipeg's fans.

The Blue Bombers held their first practice today with both veterans and newcomers to the organization. One of the newcomers to Winnipeg is Kenny Stafford, who has played in 41 CFL games.

"The fans. Every time I come to Winnipeg the fans have always been in it whether you guys are losing or winning," Stafford said on his decision to join the Blue Bombers this year. "That's a big part of it, especially having the support of the city and the organization."

Stafford said he came to this camp to get to know everyone and put a face to the organization that he signed with. He will add to a dangerous group of wide receivers that include Darvin Adams, Clarence Denmark, Weston Dressler, Julian Feoli-Gudino and Gerrard Sheppard.

Kyle Knox is getting ready for his second season in the CFL after playing 11 game with the Blue Bombers last season at linebacker. He has been training hard this off-season and can't wait to get back on the field.

"Every off-season I train to the fullest of my potential," Knox said. "When I come back I can make sure my teammates get the best out of me."

"I love being up here, love playing with the guys and playing football, what more can I ask for," Knox smiled.

Knox was born in Los Angeles but wasn't too bothered by the weather at the morning practice, which was hovering around 4°C with gusting winds. "I thought it was going to be snowing, so the snow is not here, I'm not too bad. I can't complain," Knox joked.

The roster featured four quarterbacks, including last year's starter Matt Nichols.
