Yesterday, the Blue Bombers announced that they would continue to partner with northern communities throughout the 2018 season.

Over the 2017 Winnipeg Blue Bombers season, the Bombers, along with Perimeter Aviation and Exchange Income Corporation, brought 50 youth and members of First Nations comunities to every Bomber home game.

"We realized that the Bombers were 6-2 at home, [which] is the best record they've ever had [at Investor's Group Field]," Mike Pyle, the CEO of Exchange Income Corporation, boasted. "The only thing that we can contibute that to is our fans from northern Manitoba."

Wade Miller is the President and CEO of the Bombers. Miller said that this was a very important inititive for them and was excited to talk about the offseason.

"The second part of this initiative is during the offseason where our players will go up to visit them in their communities," Miller said. "We are Manitoba's team, and [doing] this really makes us Manitoba's team."

Matt Nichols will be one of the players visiting northern Manitoba in 2018. Nichols will be assisting in the Frontier Games, a division-wide tournament for northern Manitoba schools. Matthias Goossen and Ian Wild visited schools in Thompson and Wabowden earlier this year.

"Seeing the children's faces light up from the minute they get on the aircraft has been the best part of this program," said Nick Vodden, President and CEO of Perimeter Aviation in a statement.
