Autumn officially arrived in Manitoba at 8:54 p.m. Saturday. And, with perfect timing, the snow began to fall in Winnipeg.

It had already been falling for hours across the province, however.

Areas along Highways 10 and 16 experienced wet, heavy snow.

Highway driving conditions deteriorated quickly.

At the Winnipeg Airport, Environment Canada recorded 5.5 mm of precipitation in the form of rain.

However, in southern areas of Winnipeg, a few centimetres were reported by unofficial reporters.

Western Manitobans reported several inches of snow falling on their properties.

It will continue to be cooler and wet this week across the province. However, we should have seen the last of the snow for a while.
