RCMP in Powerview says they recovered crystal methamphetamine, cash, and other items during a Friday-evening raid.

On June 19, RCMP in Powerview executed a search warrant at a town residence. At 5:00 p.m. authorities arrived at the home, finding drugs and a weapon inside.

During the search, they seized 14 grams of crystal methamphetamine, cash, brass knuckles, and drug paraphernalia.

Five people are now facing charges related to the incident, aged 25-52, in areas including the RM of Alexander and Sagkeeng First Nation.

People facing charges such as Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking and Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited Weapon include:

  • A 52-year-old male from Sagkeeng First Nation
  • A 38-year-old male from Little Black River First Nation
  • A 35-year-old female from the RM of Alexander
  • A 29-year-old female from Powerview-Pine Falls
  • A 25-year-old male from Sagkeeng First Nation

Authorities say they are also laying additional charges not named in the release.

RCMP is continuing to investigate this incident.

Powerview is approximately 118 km from the City of Winnipeg.
