Three people have died and another is in hospital after a serious crash Thursday morning.

The sole survivor of a head-on collision on Highway 7 is in a Winnipeg hospital receiving treatment for serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.

RCMP Manitoba says when officers arrived at 6:20 a.m. at the highway crash, seven kilometres south of Arborg in the RM of Armstrong, they found two vehicles involved in a crash.

Officers believe a southbound car with three men inside collided head-on with a car travelling northbound. The northbound car was being driven by a 53-year-old woman. The Armstrong woman was taken to the hospital in Winnipeg.

The other car's three occupants, two 23-year-old men and another yet-to-be-identified man were found dead at the scene.

RCMP does not believe alcohol was a factor.

Arborg RCMP, the Criminal Collision Investigation Team, and a Forensic Collision Reconstructionist are investigating.
