The porn website XTube accused of exploitation and affiliated with the Montreal-based parent company MindGeek is being shut down.

"In another massive victory against exploitative porn, XTube—the MindGeek-owned “sister site” of Pornhub—is shutting down!" says Exodus Cry on their Facebook page. The organization is a US company committed to abolishing sex trafficking and breaking the cycle of commercial sexual exploitation.

XTube has been offering videos to subscribers since 2006. Many of those videos allegedly were put up without consent or were profiting from the abuse of minors.

"As most of you are well aware, over the past year MindGeek has continually been called out and investigated for knowingly profiting from the exploitation, rape, and sex trafficking of both child and adult victims. The closing of XTube may be another sign that MindGeek’s exploitative porn empire is crumbling," says Exodus Cry.

In December of 2020, MindGeek received another blow when Visa, Mastercard, and Discover Card all stopped allowing their services to be used on the site. Three months ago a former employee of Pornhub spoke out against illegal activity, on top of a new lawsuit was filed against MindGeek by 34 victims of child and adult sex trafficking just weeks ago.

"We believe milestones like this are only made possible by the efforts of passionate activists, relentless organizations, and brave survivors all united in the fight to hold Pornhub/MindGeek accountable. And we see more victories on the horizon."
