Animal Services is celebrating an incredible year that saw most animals who came into their care leave their care.

In 2016, 97 per cent of the dogs that entered Animal Services were reunited with their owner, adopted out, or sent to a rescue or animal shelter. This is a dramatic inrease from the 75 per cent 2008 saw.

Animal Services operates an "open admission" shelter for stray dogs, which means they will take in all dogs from the streets of Winnipeg. They provide medical care if needed, as well as proper socialization for all dogs.

Dogs are posted online and on social media.
