A host of angels will line the Maryland Bridge this morning.

Volunteers dressed as angels, will spend their morning collecting drive thru donations on the Maryland side of the Misericordia Health Centre.

It is all part of the Misericordia Health Centre Foundation’s annual Angel Squad fundraising event.

Lisa Stiver, Chair of the Misericordia Health Centre Foundation says, it creates awareness for the health centre, and it helps to fund their programs.

"We have three programs unique to Manitoba including the Eye Centre of Excellence, sleep disorder centre and the provincial contact centre, which has Health Links and Info Santé. As well, the funds are used to fund our life enriching programs for our long term residents, things like music and memory, and art by the bedside. These are programs that would not be able to happen without the support of the people who come see the angels."

The angels will be out and about from 6am-9am today, and again tomorrow from 7:30am-9am on the Maryland Bridge.

There will be three extra sites set up tomorrow including 201 Portage Avenue, 360 Main Street (underground in the Winnipeg Square concourse), as well as 2025 Corydon.
