Southern Manitoba will continue to see hot weather this week, with daytime highs possibly reaching above 30 degrees in some communities.

Winnipeg will begin the week with sunshine and a high of 26 degrees. Winds will blow from the south at 30 km/h with gusts up to 50 km/h.

The high winds will continue overnight, then slowing before morning.

On Tuesday the sunshine continues with a high of 29 degrees and a humidex value of 32.

Environment Canada is currently forecasting a high of 30 degrees for Brandon, Man. on Tuesday.

Daytime highs are expected to remain well above the 20 degree mark for most of the week. Overnight lows will stay above 10 degrees until Friday evening. Windspeeds will also likely pick up again by mid-week.

The average daytime high for this time of year is 16 degrees and the average low is 4 degrees.

While Winnipeg won't come close to the heat record for Sep. 27, which was set at 35.6 degrees in 1952, it could very possibly beat it on Tuesday. The record for Sep. 28 is 27.2 degrees, set in 1943. The lowest temperature is 7 degrees, which was set in 2002.
