Seven occupants in the home had safely self-evacuated and smoke was coming from the home when firefighters arrived.

Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) responded to a fire in a single-family bungalow on Lockwood Street near Corydon at 5:20 a.m. Sunday.

Crews used an offensive attack and the blaze was declared under control in 20 minutes.

One further individual was brought to safety by firefighters. All occupants were assessed by paramedics at the scene. No injuries were reported and no individuals required hospital care.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
