Landon Hoffman and his family are thrilled to enter their next phase of recovery in the comfort of familiar surroundings.

When 5-year-old Landon was thrown from the third-floor balcony of the Mall of America on April 12, 2019, his family was astounded at God's goodness. Though the child sustained severe head trauma and several broken bones from the attack, he suffered no long-term brain damage and was, most importantly, alive.

His family is now giving thanks that their long road to recovery since the accident continues to move forward. Having recently completed inpatient rehabilitation, Landon has recently been able to return home for the remainder of his journey to healing.

"We rejoice in the Lord's blessing," the Hoffman family said of this next step in their son's recovery, according to the Christian Post.

A GoFundMe page, started by family friends shortly after the attack on Landon, has raised now over $1 million. In a recent update, the Hoffman's offered their sincere thanks to all who have supported and prayed over their family since the April incident.

"We are so thankful, and we rejoice in the Lord’s blessings to our family,” the family shared. “We continue to ask that His healing powers guide us and our son’s care team as we enter the next phase of recovery, which includes continued outpatient rehabilitation for multiple injuries and adjusting to life back at home and school.”

The family also stated that the support they received helped provide hope throughout Landon's recovery and has shown them "the Glory of God’s great love here on earth even during the darkest of days.”

It was announced in August that Landon had been moved from intensive care to a rehabilitation unit as part of his recovery plan.

Hoffman still requires outpatient rehabilitation for the numerous injuries sustained in his three-story fall, in addition to readjusting back to life outside of a medical centre.
