RCMP have released details about their hunt for a suspect in a New Year's Day homicide in a community close to the Manitoba-Saskatchewan boundary.

Police say they responded to a shooting outside a community hall in Creighton, Saskatchewan early Saturday, and that a man was taken to hospital in Flin Flon, Manitoba in stable condition.

While they were searching for the suspect, they say they got a report of another shooting in Flin Flon, where they found a man injured and a woman dead.

Xander Tardiff, an 18-year-old male from Flin Flon, was arrested late Saturday and faces a charge of second-degree murder, as well as numerous weapons charges.
