The Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) responded to reports of a fire in a one and a half storey home in the 1100 block of Manitoba Avenue early Sunday morning.

Upon arrival on scene, crews encountered flames coming from the home and heavy smoke conditions. An offensive attack was launched and crews had the fire under control by 1:48 a.m.

People who were inside the house at the time of the fire were able to escape on their own before crews arrived.

One individual was assessed on scene by paramedics and transported to hospital in stable condition. It was determined the individual’s condition was not related to the fire.

No injuries were reported. 

The cause of the fire is under investigation. No damage estimates are available at this time.
