One individual has been taken to hospital after a busy morning for Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Services (WFPS).

At around 2:43 p.m. on May 3, WFPS was called to a two-storey commercial building in the 100 block of Provencher Boulevard.

Heavy smoke was coming from the building and crews launched an offensive attack to control the fire.

At around 4:28 a.m. the fire was declared under control.

t 4:55 a.m., WFPS was called to a residential four-plex in the North End of Winnipeg.

"Motorists are reminded that driving over a hose is an offense under the Highway Traffic Act," says WFPS.

"Doing so can create unsafe conditions for firefighters and put others in the vicinity at risk."
